Research
Our Development Services team is constantly investigating new Federal and State funding opportunities. We research private foundations utilizing several databases totaling over 100,000 foundations.
We target those that are the best match for your organization. We outline the priorities and requirements of each funding opportunity in a way that simplifies the proposal development process.
We will gather and analyze all information necessary to demonstrate the needs of your program, provide resources that will enhance its design, and help you to better understand any laws or policies that might apply.
Over the course of one year, 50% (the industry standard is 10 to 17%) of funding proposals submitted on behalf of one of our clients (a non-profit organization that provides housing supports with an operating budget of over $8 million) were funded – bringing in close to $400,000 in foundation grants and nearly $1.2 million in state funding for the client. As part of the planning and development of the funding proposal to the state, NPCM successfully facilitated weekly discussions between 17 partners that were involved in the proposed regional initiative.
NPCM was able to secure more than $150,000 in state and foundation funding on behalf of one of our clients, a non-profit agency that provides tutoring to economically disadvantaged students with an operating budget of close to $900,000. NPCM secured funding for Commonwealth Corps members to work at the agency, for agency staff development and training, and for program operations.
For a client with a $3 million budget thinking about creating a computer lab for their developmentally disabled clientele, NPCM helped to work out the details of what it would look like, how they would utilize it, what the planned outcomes would be, and what the budget would be to make it happen. NPCM then customized a proposal to a local high tech company, which ended up funding the entire thing and providing help with the installation.
